Early Years Educator

Early Years Educators have the opportunity to influence the development of young children by creating and maintaining environments that meet their diverse needs. This apprenticeship equips learners with essential skills such as child safety, communication, planning, health and safety, behaviour monitoring, and a solid understanding of play and development theories.

The goal of this qualification is to produce highly skilled professionals who play a crucial role in ensuring that young children thrive in their learning and development while remaining healthy and safe. Early Years Educators are responsible for delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements, which guide the learning, development, and care of children from birth to age 5. This role can be found in various settings, including full-day care centres, children’s centres, preschools, reception classes, and as childminders.

Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.

Each apprentice must undergo an independent end-point assessment to determine the outcome of their apprenticeship. The assessments will evaluate the knowledge, skills and behaviours gained during their programme. The methods in which this apprenticeship is assessed are:
